Back-building architecture is flourishing.
Mainly in urban settings, all the low-quality volumes against the back facade are gradually being replaced by open facades and extensions that optimise the relationship with the garden.
Back facades are becoming the new front facades.
In this replacement construction of the rear building, a bay window - a typical façade element - is used to reinforce the feeling of being surrounded by the garden. A back facade with front facade allure.
